Neal Spruce Purchases PTontheNet and PTA Global

Neal Spruce and his investment group have acquired Personal Training on the Net (PTontheNet) and Personal Training Academy Global (PTA Global), Denver, for an undisclosed sum.

"We couldn't be more excited to have found the best possible organization to hand our baton to," Kevin Laferriere, CEO of FitPro, said in a release from the company. "We believe Neal Spruce and team are certainly the right group to liberate the full potential of the PTontheNet and PTA Global brands. Their commitment to growing meaningful fitness resources is unparalleled in our industry. We're inspired by their vast network; and most importantly, our customers will be the undoubted benefactors of a significant uplift in our product and services."

In the past, Spruce has founded, owned, operated or partnered in fitness brands such as Gold's Gym, Apex Fitness, National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the Bodybugg and 24 Hour Fitness, among others. Most recently, Spruce developed the evidence-based fitness programming company, dotFIT Worldwide.

"We anticipate improving operating efficiencies, including customer support, rapid deployment of resources and expanded services," Spruce said. "The new organization will quickly move to amplify its current position as the preferred provider for all customized health, sport, fitness professional and facility needs."

PTontheNet and PTA Global host an education and business resource service on a single platform. The platform includes education and staff training resources, NCCA-accredited certification, CECs and advanced continuing education, recruitment and new employee onboarding tools, compliance-based education such as CPR and AED training and workplace harassment, an exercise library and program design tools.

"Accurate delivery of the best tools and talent needed to run a successful fitness business within an organization's own footprint will bring and keep more people coming through the doors," Spruce said.
