McGinnis Resigns as FreeMotion Fitness President to Join Hawley-Lambert

Pat McGinnis has resigned his position as president at FreeMotion Fitness Inc., Logan, Utah, to join bicycle parts and accessories distributor Hawley-Lambert, Lexington, South Carolina and Levis, Quebec, Canada, as vice president of commercial sales.

McGinnis' departure was effective June 3, according to a media release distributed Monday by FreeMotion Fitness, a division of ICON Health and Fitness Inc. His first day at Hawley-Lambert is June 20.

"It has been an absolute honor to be a part of FreeMotion —a leader in the fitness industry —and now join Hawley-Lambert who is quickly becoming a leader in their own right," McGinnis said in a statement. “I am sad to leave Icon but am looking forward to this new adventure."

McGinnis will oversee all North American commercial functions for Hawley-Lambert, including sales, marketing, digital strategy, development of owned brands and brand-building efforts of strategic distribution brands. McGinnis' move to Hawley-Lambert marks his return to the cycling industry. He was the vice president of sales at Raleigh America prior to joining FreeMotion Fitness in 2006. McGinnis was promoted to FreeMotion Fitness president in 2009.

"Pat has a very impressive background and an impeccable reputation," Sylvain Caya, president, Hawley-Lambert, said in a statement. "From his entrepreneurial spirit to his drive to achieve great results to his leadership style, I can say confidently that Pat is the right leader for us."

Dan Dustin will serve as FreeMotion Fitness' interim president while the board conducts a search for a new president.

"We are thankful for Pat's leadership over the last 10 years as the company has undergone a successful transformation and achieved profitability," said Matt Allen, COO Icon Health & Fitness. "We wish Pat and his family all the best in the next phase of his career."

Allen noted that FreeMotion will continue its strategic focus on developing innovative fitness products, growing revenues and maintaining profitability.
