First Walls Erected at Cal State Fullerton

FULLERTON, CA -- The first walls of the California State Fullerton (CSUF) Student Recreation Center were lifted last Friday. The rec is planned as a comprehensive facility and program designed to serve fitness, recreation, education and social needs of the Cal State Fullerton campus community. Funded by the Titan Student Union, the facility will feature fitness equipment, indoor gyms, multipurpose activity spaces, sports courts, a multi-media cardio room (the first in the CSU system), an indoor track, a rock wall and an outdoor swimming pool. The center is expected to be completed in fall 2008.

The center's program will serve individual and group fitness training, non-credit group exercise classes, campus intramural sports programs, and university-recognized student club and organization activities. It will also promote and encourage students to take part in healthy leisure-time activities. Live progress of the Student Recreation Center’s construction can be viewed online via the CSUF Design and Construction Web cam at http://d-c.fullerton.edu/WebCam/src.htm.
