Supporting the physical demands of military, law enforcement and other first responders

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Oct. 19, 2020) – The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), a pioneer in the personal training certification industry, announced the launch of their new tactical conditioning certification specifically tailored to meet the demanding physical needs of first responders.

Tactical conditioning is the application of strength and conditioning principles in a strategic training environment. It’s a multidisciplinary approach to the performance, maintenance and recovery of the body for optimal effectiveness while in the line of duty.

“The demands required on the battlefield or in the line of duty these days requires much more than basic weight training and conditioning,” said Josh Bryant, world-renown strength coach and best-selling fitness author. “You have to take into account uncommon variables like carrying or wearing equipment, timing of an emergency and quick decision-making movements with the body. That’s why it’s important to learn how to train your body for the unexpected for the best outcomes and least possible room for injury.”

ISSA’s tactical conditioning certification allows individuals to achieve the physical, physiological, and aesthetic changes seen by tactical athletes training for their occupation. For those not professionally obligated, but want to function and perform at their highest level, this course can work for them, too.

ISSA’s tactical conditioning course will teach:

  • How to train for the high-demands of tactical occupations
  • Neuromuscular anatomy
  • Strength, power, and speed development
  • Functional training
  • Testing and evaluation of tactical fitness
  • Core strength training
  • Injury prevention
  • Unique workout program design

“The key component to our tactical conditioning certification is the emphasis on individualized programming to meet the needs of each person,” said Andrew Wyant, CEO of ISSA. “What I love about Josh Bryant’s approach is the progressiveness of the extreme fitness levels he brings to the program that might not otherwise be achieved through traditional boot camp or training. He understands how to incorporate mentorship, mindset and work ethic into the physical training for optimal outcomes.”

All ISSA courses offer a scientific and evidence-based approach and are certified through the NCCPT.
