Moxie adds a human touch to online fitness by creating a community where instructors know their students and everyone lifts each other up.

NEW YORK - Oct. 27, 2020 - Moxie, the first all-in-one online fitness studio, launches today, hosting the world's largest range of live fitness and yoga classes to democratize fitness for instructors and consumers alike. With the COVID-19 pandemic driving gyms and boutique fitness studios to shut down, Moxie was born as a space for consumers to workout anytime, anywhere, and for instructors to start, run, and grow their own online coaching business.

Pre-COVID, group fitness instructors worked mornings and evenings, taught at multiple gyms and studios to make ends meet, and kept less than 20 percent of group class sales. Moxie’s intuitive design and comprehensive platform empowers fitness instructors to become entrepreneurs, declare independence from gyms and studios, go direct-to-consumers, and keep 85 percent of the profits earned.

Moxie makes the transition to virtual training seamless by streamlining scheduling, payment, class offerings and formats, and music, all under one platform. This allows instructors to focus on providing the best fitness experience for their students. Carefully crafted for virtual fitness, each Moxie instructor is given a personal studio with warm up rooms and cool down rooms. Instructors also receive access to Moxie Music, the world’s first music streaming solution for online fitness classes featuring commercially licensed music, carefully curated playlists, and music volumes that intelligently adjust.

Launching with nearly 5,000 live classes, consumers can access live fitness and yoga classes 24/7, from high intensity interval training to pilates. Livestream and on-demand subscription formats allow students to exercise anytime and anywhere. Taking place on Moxie’s proprietary two-way live streaming technology, each Moxie studio accommodates up to 100 participants per class and provides a forum for real-time questions and feedback. Each class is recorded and saved to a streaming library for students who cannot attend live.

“We built Moxie in partnership with 1000+ independent fitness instructors, to design the platform they needed to succeed online,” said Jason Goldberg, Founder and CEO of Moxie. “They were juggling numerous tools that weren't designed for fitness and were ineffective in allowing them to coach virtually. Moxie solves for these pain points with an all-in-one online studio that helps fitness instructors become fitness entrepreneurs and offers fitness enthusiasts thousands of live classes to choose from. Moxie is everybody’s home for group fitness.”

Moxie was founded by serial entrepreneur Jason Goldberg (Fab.com, Hem and Pepo), and the company closed a $2.1M friends and family seed round in August. Moxie is available now with more than 2,000 instructors and nearly 5,000 live classes to choose from. Prices are set by each individual instructor, ranging from flat prepaid rate, a pay-what-you-can rate, or weekly and monthly subscription packages. Traditional classes range from $5 - $10.
