Laguna Beach, CA, Sept. 20, 2021-  Fit 5 Gear LLC announced an innovative indoor cycling pedal compatible with four major cycling cleats and flat-soled athletic shoes. Aimed at commercial studios and home gyms where multiple users share the same bike, the Fit 5 pedal features a robust build tailored specifically to the rigors of serious indoor cycling.

The patented Fit 5 pedal’s selector switch customizes the engagement of Shimano SPD-SL, Look Delta and Look Keo cleats, with no need for tools. Shimano SPD mountain cleats engage on the opposite side. Currently, the most versatile pedals on the market accept only two different cleats. Entry and exit force are adjusted with an Allen bolt on the SPD mountain bike side, and with a tool-free plus/minus switch on the road side.

Riders using flat-soled shoes or sneakers can use Fit 5’s snap-in nylon platforms with integrated toe clips and adjustable straps, with a unique release lever for quick removal.

Indoor stationary bikes put severe strains on pedals, making standard outdoor pedals inappropriate for indoor use. “Logically, commercial studio pedals may see very heavy use, but we’ve found that stationary bikes generally create unique stresses on pedals, distinctly different from regular bicycles,” comments a Fit 5 engineer. “That’s why we chose large-diameter spindles made from heat-treated chrome-moly steel, along with the best ABEC 5 industrial bearings available for this application. Our tests show we’ve created the industry’s strongest pedal.”

The Fit 5 pedal retails for US$149 per pair with removable platforms, and US$129 without platforms. For more information and to contact the company, visit Fit5Gear.com.
