EuropeActive welcomes its new National Association partners to strengthen collaboration across Europe

EuropeActive is pleased to announce that National Association partners BAHF in Bulgaria, IG Fitness Switzerland, Georgia Active, SFRR in Slovenia and Ukraine Active have joined the organisation with the aim of working together to provide the sector with a strong, unified voice to promote and protect its interests at the national level.

EuropeActive is fully committed to help grow the voice of national associations in its thinking and actions, as well as developing mutually beneficial partnerships with all its 25 European national fitness associations who are jointly committed to get more people, more active, more often. 

“We are overjoyed to join EuropeActive as a national partner and to use synergies with other fitness related associations throughout Europe to develop the fitness and health industry”, stated Roger Erni, Managing Director of IG Fitness Switzerland. Marcus Schwedhelm, Board Member of the IG Fitness added: “If the current situation showed one thing it is the importance, the will and the need for collaboration and the need for health. Together we are stronger to underline our message: ‘Exercise is medicine – prevention the key to live a healthier life’, hence the IG Fitness Switzerland is glad to support EuropeActive in getting more people, more active, more often".

Georgia Active President Shota Khabareli said: "I am pleased to confirm our support to EuropeActive and share its mission, vision and desire to facilitate and promote the professionalisation of the fitness and physical activity sector. Together we can achieve global recognition of fitness industry professionals and also improve the existing standards".

In 2019 the European market grew by 3.8 % and in the past 10 years the number of fitness users has increased by 72%, and 9.7% of all European citizens aged over 15 are users of fitness facilities.
