EuropeActive has geared up for the long-awaited third edition of #BEACTIVE DAY, the European campaign that celebrates the fun of physical activity and that promote active lifestyles. EuropeActive hosted a virtual workshop on Tuesday 23 May, following which the campaign is now in full swing. Over 17 national associations have already began planning campaigns in their respective countries, all of which will contribute to showcasing the fitness sector’s role.

The #BEACTIVE DAY initiative stems from the collaboration between EuropeActive and its national association partners. As part of the European Week of Sport (23-30 September), this exciting campaign witnesses thousands of free events and activities across Europe and beyond on Saturday 23 September. Sector stakeholders including notably health and fitness clubs, leisure centres, digital providers, club operators, and exercise professionals are invited to join forces and organise physical activity events, which can take place anywhere including outdoors and digitally.

The goal is to attract, encourage, and support individuals as they take a step towards an active lifestyle. Participation is open to the general public, regardless of age, gender, or socio-economic background, which aligns with the intergenerational approach of this year’s campaign. The European Commission has also selected #BEACTIVE DAY for funding under the Erasmus+ Programme

EuropeActive President David Stalker commented: “I am very excited to see the build-up to the third consecutive edition of #BEACTIVE DAY. I would like to thank our national association partners and the entire fitness community for their continued commitment and dedication in order to make this event a reality across more than 17 European countries.

As a strong supporter of the European Week of Sport, EuropeActive will continue to pave the way to make physical activity a priority for national governments and decision-making bodies. I would therefore like to invite everyone to join us on #BEACTIVE DAY and make September 23rd the most active day of the year to get more people, more active, more often.” he concluded.
