Leading Fitness Franchise Continues to See Growth Across Home State with Two Locations Opening in 2021, Two Others in Development.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – D1 Training, a leading fitness concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals – has announced the signing of four franchise agreements, including one multi-unit, to bring five new locations to the state of Tennessee.

The figurehead behind the multi-unit agreement is Joe Stanford. His first D1 facility, located in West Nashville (2 City Blvd.), has been open and operational since December 2020, and his second location is slated to open in Murfreesboro by year-end. Franchisees Tom and Shanda Lee will be taking their business to Eastern Tennessee with plans to develop a D1 Training center in Johnson City. Meanwhile, franchisee Gary Fischer is slated to open a location in Spring Hill. Rounding out the newest franchise development in the state is franchisee Mike Oxley who will open D1 Hendersonville (117 Saunderville Rd.) this summer.

“Our passion for Hendersonville runs deep, and we’ve always wanted to give back to it, so we are very excited to be bringing D1 Training to this city,” said Oxley. “We believe this facility will enhance the community, impacting the kids and adults who come to us. After what people went through this past year and a half, we want them to see D1 as a place they can go to focus on their health and wellness. Our goal was to create a space where like-minded people can come together and create their own community – D1 will allow them to do that.”

Founded in Nashville, Tenn., the hometown of CEO and founder Will Bartholomew, D1 has continued to thrive, growing to five successful locations across the state. The success of its original location in Cool Springs has led way to locations in Knoxville, Chattanooga and most recently, West Nashville. D1 Training is seeking qualified, community-minded franchisees with a passion for the fitness industry for further development in Nashville, Memphis, Jackson and the surrounding Middle Tennessee area.

With the need for scholastic training during the pandemic and D1’s success over the past year and a half, the brand has proven its ability to innovate and adapt to changing circumstances. Through its D1toU online, virtual training app and remote program in partnership with TrainHeroic, D1 allowed franchisees to feel safe and supported in their quest to continue servicing their communities. As facilities began to safely reopen across the nation, its newly secured vendor partnerships with Sorinex Equipment, Plae and Zybek are providing D1 with a unique competitive advantage. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the brand is up 179.95% in systemwide sales, year-over-year.

These achievements have not gone unnoticed as the franchise industry has honored D1 Training with several recent award wins including breaking into Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2021 Franchise 500 ranking – the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking recognizing brands for their outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength, and brand power.

All locations offer five age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or their fitness goals, regardless of age or athletic background.
