Matrix Fitness Reports 21 Percent Sales Growth in 2018

Much of the 2018 success for Matrix Fitness came from its U.S. sales in the fourth quarter.

Matrix Fitness, Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, reported $528 million in global revenue for 2018, its highest top-line number to date, with an increase of 21 percent over 2017, according to an announcement from the company.

Matrix Fitness is the commercial brand of Johnson Health Tech (JHT), Taichung, Taiwan. JHT also sells Vision and Horizon brands of fitness equipment.

The company experienced increased sales globally, but its U.S. sales grew 40 percent in fourth quarter 2018, with a total 26 percent increase for 2018, according to the company. The company launched more than 35 products at IHRSA in 2018, and these products reached full production in the fourth quarter, which contributed to the fourth quarter growth, according to JHT.

“In the U.S. market we are experiencing strong sales growth across all of our product categories and customer segments,” said Mark Zabel, global chief marketing officer and president of the U.S. Commercial Division. “Sales to key accounts, athletics/education, multi-housing and medical channels have grown by double-digit percentages, and our ability to far outpace the growth of our competitors proves that Matrix is delivering the products, solutions and support our customers desire.”
