Fitness Factory Health Club Acquires Club Metro USA, Begins Franchising

The Fitness Factory Health Club, Edgewater, New Jersey, has acquired eight Club Metro Health Club facilities and will begin franchising, the company announced on July 7.

The company did not share the acquisition price.

Fitness Factory had seven corporate-owned locations prior to the purchase. It will migrate the eight franchised Club Metro Health Clubs into the Fitness Factory name, streamline operations and grow through franchising opportunities.

Fitness Factory Health Club was founded in 1998 by Dennis Cieri and Richard Scarpati.

“We are thrilled to announce our recent expansion, with additional locations in the works,” the owners said in the announcement. “We are at ground zero of this exciting opportunity with many more opportunities for our brand to continue to expand utilizing our real estate, construction and operational expertise. Between the increased awareness of the importance of health and wellness, and the shifting demographics of the population, the health and wellness industry is seeing a massive surge. It’s the perfect moment to jump on board.
