Not only is Technogym the exclusive equipment supplier for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, but the Gambettola, Italy-based company also partnered with the city of London and the British government for a wellnessbased initiative to attract the citizens of Great Britain to regular physical activity.
The initiative is a first for Technogym in an Olympics host city. Technogym also has sponsored equipment for the Olympic Games in Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), Turin, Italy (2006) and Beijing (2008).
At the London Games, Technogym designed and outfitted the 27,000- square-foot main gym in the Olympic and Paralympic Village. The company supplied a total of 750 pieces of equipment for the main gym and the 19 fitness facilities for the 38 Olympic and 21 Paralympic sports in their respective venues. More than 100 personal trainers from Technogym are managing the fitness facilities and assisting the athletes, according to the company.
