Precor Opens Manufacturing Facility

WOODINVILLE, WA -- Precor has opened and begun operations at a new facility in Guilford County, NC, near Greensboro. The plant, which will produce Precor strength products, replaces a smaller facility in Valencia, CA.

Representing an investment of more than $26 million, the plant will manufacture commercial strength equipment, including all the newest Precor single station C-Line machines as well as Icarian plate-loaded, functional and multi-station machines.

At more than 230,000 square feet, the building provides a significant increase in capacity for Precor, more than doubling the size of its current strength manufacturing plant.

North Carolina offered a strong manufacturing talent pool, a good geographic balance to its main facility near Seattle and reasonable construction costs, according to Precor.

“We’re excited about the capability this new facility gives us,” Paul Byrne, Precor president, said in a statement from the company. “The commercial strength market is growing, and our new plant will be a key to serving increasing customer demand.”

The facility also serves as a showroom for the full line of Precor commercial and consumer equipment, provides a meeting place for customers and sales representatives and offers distribution advantages to the East Coast and Europe over the company’s other facilities, according to Precor.
