Peloton Gets into Corporate Wellness; Armband Heart Rate Monitor May Be Next

Peloton is now into corporate wellness, launching its Peloton Corporate Wellness platform to businesses in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Germany, rolling out into Australia later this year, it announced on June 22.

And soon, the company may expand its wearable presence with an armband heart rate monitor, according to a Bloomberg article. Code found by Bloomberg in Peloton’s iPhone and iPad app indicate a future wearable that will pair with Peloton’s devices and could be updated in the future to do more than read heart rates.

Peloton bought Atlas Wearables in March, leading to speculation at that time that it might get into wearables. It also purchased Aiqudo, which uses artificial intelligence to add voice actions to apps and devices, as well as Otari, which created an interactive workout mat.

On the corporate wellness side, Peloton’s content and connected fitness products are now available to organizations that are committed to providing employees access to mental and physical health resources.

"Introducing Peloton Corporate Wellness is the latest step to making the award-winning Peloton experience more accessible," Peloton's President William Lynch said in the announcement. "Over the years we've worked hard to help our members achieve healthier and happier lifestyles. Peloton Corporate Wellness is the natural extension for us to be able to scale that offering. Together with our Corporate Wellness partners, we're now able to share the experience with millions more while also driving stronger culture and community within the workplace."

Business owners now can offer subsidized access to Peloton digital and all-access memberships, as well as exclusive benefits on connected fitness products. Corporate wellness partners will receive access to tailored enterprise features to help drive engagement, reduce administrative workload and measure impact, all via a secure platform.

Wayfair, Samsung, SAP, Accenture Interactive, part of Accenture, and Sky, in the U.K., are among the first organizations partnering with Peloton Corporate Wellness. Eligible employees of these companies will receive a range of options including free access to the Peloton app and exclusive benefits on connected fitness products to support team building and healthy habits.
