The National Strength and Conditioning Association

Advertorial

The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning, supporting and disseminating research-based knowledge and its practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness. Founded in 1978, the NSCA provides the most advanced and scientific information regarding strength training, conditioning practices and injury prevention. The NSCA is an international nonprofit educational association that currently reaches more than 50,000 associated professionals around the globe. The association develops and presents the most advanced information regarding strength training and conditioning practices, programming, injury prevention and research findings. To maintain the highest level of education and professional integrity, the NSCA offers two NCCA-accredited certifications: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT®).

The NSCA partners with a diverse group of professionals from the sport science, athletic, allied health and fitness industries to pursue the common goal of improved athletic performance and fitness through proper strength and conditioning practices. This pursuit is achieved through the combined efforts in the areas of education and content development, certification, membership, practical application of best practices at NSCA’s 6,000-square-foot Performance Center, and partnership with a vast network of researchers and coaches. Research is furthered through NSCA’s Foundation, offering grants and scholarships. Through these efforts, the NSCA bridges the gap between the sports scientist and the practitioner in the field by working to find practical applications for emerging research.
