Life Fitness is moving its headquarters from Rosemont, Illinois, to its Franklin Park, Illinois, campus, the company announced on June 28.
The move, which will begin July 1, will consolidate its operations in the Chicago area, which had been divided between the Rosemont and Franklin Park locations, four miles apart from each other.
Life Fitness is in the final stages of relocating its production assembly operations in Franklin Park to its vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Owatonna, Minnesota. The move of its production assembly operations allows Life Fitness to relocate its product development, engineering, industrial design, marketing, sales and other corporate roles to Franklin Park where Life Fitness owns the buildings on campus, according to a Life Fitness spokesperson.
Approximately 270 corporate employees will transition to Franklin Park, bringing the total headcount there to about 450. During this transition, Life Fitness will continue to offer both work from home and hybrid working options to employees who can do so.
The 200,000-square-feet of space in Franklin Park will undergo a renovation that will add open workspaces and meeting rooms equipped with technology to help employees collaborate in-person and with employees across the globe. Renovations are expected to be completed in 2023.
The renovated space will include a showroom featuring products from all of the Life Fitness brands (Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, Cybex, Indoor Cycling Group, SCIFIT). The showroom will serve as a fitness center for employees and will include a space to host events, including interactive workshops and trainings for customers.
The building will also host the company’s first U.S.-based Experience Center to showcase its latest products and drive collaboration with customers.
