Recreation Center Set to Open in the Spring at Saint Mary's College of California

Construction is nearing completion on a 60,000-square-foot recreation center at Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, CA.

Michael McAlpin, director of media relations at Saint Mary's, says the $23.5 million Joseph L. Alioto Recreation Center is on target to open in the spring.

The facility will house three full-size courts for recreational and intramural basketball, soccer and volleyball; multi-purpose rooms for yoga, dance, indoor cycle classes and other group fitness activities; a climbing wall; whirlpool spa; an aquatics center with a recreational pool; a juice and snack bar; and offices for sports and recreation staff.

All enrolled undergraduate and graduate students will have access to the center free of charge. Faculty and staff can use the facility and take advantage of recreation program offerings for $240 a year.
