Notre Dame Continues Construction

SOUTH BEND, IN — Less than a year away from completion, the Don F. and Flora Guglielmino Family Athletic Center at Notre Dame University just reached its highest construction point with the placement of the peaked roof steel framing on the 95,840-square-foot two-story facility.

The $21.25 million center, nick-named “the Gug,” is scheduled to open in fall 2005. The facility will house the Irish football program's locker rooms, offices and meeting rooms, as well as provide Notre Dame's 800 student-athletes with enhanced space for training and sports medicine, strength and conditioning programs, and equipment.
