Will Shields is a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Did you know he also is a fitness club owner?
Shields, an offensive lineman who played 14 seasons in the National Football League for the Kansas City Chiefs, is the owner of 68's Inside Sports in Overland Park, Kansas. He bought the former Dales Athletic Club in 2007 after retiring and renamed it with his jersey number.
The facility is geared toward family fitness and has competitive sports training, two indoor training turf fields, a weight room, small group training studios, chiropractic care, physical therapy, unlimited batting cage use and a golf studio.
Shields was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 8. Shields never missed a game in his career (231 consecutive games). His NFL resume includes seven all-pro nominations, 12 Pro Bowls and Walter Payton Man of the Year (2003).
Shields spent his enshrinement speech thanking and crediting others, including his family, for his NFL success.
"I apologize for those I didn't get to mention, and I'm standing here today being honored because of each of you," Shields said. "So when the opportunity presents itself in your life, choose to be the difference maker in this village."
