Ex-Life Time Fitness Employee Charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery

Life Time Fitness says that an employee who was arrested last Thursday and charged with aggravated sexual battery of a 6-year-old girl is no longer with the company.

Anthony Webster, 27, worked in the child care center of a Life Time club in Collierville, TN. He is accused of putting his hands in the pants of the 6-year-old girl, according to TV station Fox 13 News in Memphis, TN.

Webster, who had turned himself into police, was released from jail after posting a $1,000 bond. He is due back in court on July 26, according to multiple reports.

Before confirming that Webster had been terminated from Life Time, the Chanhassen, MN-based company told another Memphis TV station that Webster had been suspended during a police investigation, which began June 16.

“Life Time is a company that has been built upon delivering safe, fun, family-friendly environments and experiences,” Life Time said in a statement to Club Industry. “It goes without saying that we are extremely concerned that such an allegation was brought within our environment. We are in the midst of an internal investigation regarding this matter and continue to concentrate on assisting the Collierville authorities with their investigation at this time. We remain confident in our safety and security policies and procedures, and highly committed to delivering the family oriented experiences that members have come to expect from Life Time.”
