ClubCorp, Dallas, has expanded its presence in the Chicago area by two clubs this month, purchasing the Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights, IL, this week and the Ravinia Green Country Club in Riverwoods, IL, earlier in the month. The company reportedly spent between $8 million and $9 million for Rolling Green.
ClubCorp also owns and operates The Mid-America Club and The Metropolitan Club in downtown Chicago.
The company plans a $1.5 million reinvention project at Rolling Green, a private golf and country club with a 2,200-square-foot fitness center and a pool complex, and a $1 million reinvention project at Ravinia Green, which had been a member-owned club with six tennis courts and an aquatics complex but no fitness center. The renovations and upgrades will include the golf courses, clubhouses and pool complexes at both locations.
The addition of the two locations continues the expansion of ClubCorp's overall portfolio of owned and operated clubs, which stands at more than 200 clubs in 26 states, the District of Columbia, Mexico and China.
In August, the company paid $265 million to purchase Sequoia Golf, which has 50 private, semi-private and resort golf facilities under the Sequoia brand as well as the Canongate Golf Club brand. Many of those facilities include fitness centers, tennis courts and pools.
