TRX, the global leader in functional training products announce their plans to continue their ongoing partnership with HFE following a 12-month trial period. HFE, one of the UK’s largest health and fitness education providers deliver a range of vocational products, including personal training courses, Pilates, yoga, sports massage and a range of other more specialist programmes.

TRX suspension training is one of the most versatile and affordable pieces of fitness equipment on the market. The revolutionary workout method uses body weight and gravity as resistance to build strength, improve balance, coordination, flexibility, core and joint stability. The fact that TRX suspension trainers are lightweight, makes them highly portable, allowing exercisers to take their gym with them wherever they go. Whether you have strength, fat loss, flexibility or functional goals, the TRX suspension trainer is reported by experts to have a place.

HFE embed TRX’s online trainer courses in to their personal training qualifications so that they have more knowledge and skills about functional training when they qualify. Currently, the UK qualification doesn’t place too much emphasis on functional training within the standard qualification mode so to master this subject area, students need to undertake additional specialist training. This is precisely why HFE have decided to partner with TRX and include this as standard in to their programme. By completing the online TRX trainer course, HFE’s students are able to add an extra ‘string to their bow’ making them more skilled and qualified when they launch their new career in personal training.

For PT’s working with clients, having this one simple and affordable piece of equipment makes it possible to train clients literally anywhere, regardless of little space they have. It can even be hooked on the back of a standard door frame. There are literally hundreds of exercises that can be performed with a TRX trainer, allowing a full body workout to be completed while simultaneously working the core.

In addition to making a personal trainers’ skills and experience more versatile and therefore more appealing to clients, being trained in TRX suspension training is particularly beneficial for clients who may be new to the gym and nervous about the gym environment or resistance training in general. Dr Damian Harper, a tutor at HFE said “many new exercisers are reticent about lifting heavy weights, especially women, for fear of developing a masculine appearance or getting injured. The TRX suspension trainer can be a great way to overcome this barrier with clients while they develop their confidence”. For those clients that prefer to train from home, whether they have an online personal trainer, a PT who comes to them, or even no trainer at all, the TRX suspension trainer offers an affordable and flexible piece of home gym equipment. TRX also have a number of online instruction videos and workouts, so there’s plenty of advice on the web for those that want a little extra help.

Nathan D’Rozario, International Education and Training Manager at TRX said, “TRX are very pleased to have a partnership with HFE and be able to offer our TRX Suspension Training course to their students. We feel our course compliments the quality of HFE education courses - especially around the quality of movement and functional training”.

Managing Director of HFE, Lee Cain, also provided commentary on the partnership, stating “we’re delighted to be continuing this partnership with TRX. We know that our students really value this extra training and it truly helps them prepare for their future careers in personal training”.
