Premium digital training app delivers world-class trainers, workouts and classes to wherever sports and fitness enthusiasts want to train.

Springfield, VA – The St. James, a leading sports, wellness, and entertainment brand, today announced the acquisition of WAAM, the digital training app that connects world-class trainers to motivated athletes and fitness enthusiasts around the globe.

The St. James, a category-creating premium destination which opened in 2018, boasts 450,000 square feet of state-of-the-art sports, wellness and entertainment offerings, including an Olympic pool, two NHL regulation-size ice rinks, a FIFA-regulation indoor turf field, four full-length basketball courts, a 50,000-square foot premium health club, a full-service restaurant, 25,000-square foot active entertainment center and full-service medspa. The WAAM acquisition expands The St. James’ ability to deliver an “omni-channel” training and wellness experience, whether one is at the Washington-area flagship complex or at home.

“Since its inception, The St. James has been dedicated to building a comprehensive, premium experience that helps people maximize their potential. Expanding aggressively into digital is the logical next step in the growth of the business,” said Craig Dixon, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of The St. James. “We’re incredibly excited about the many ways WAAM enables us to empower people to take our world-class trainers and coaches with them wherever they are, whether you are looking for training, fitness, wellness or sports skills development experiences.”

Karly Pavlinac founded WAAM in 2018 to help trainers expand their ability to remotely train and coach their clients and social media audiences. WAAM removes barriers like cost and location for customers looking to achieve their health goals, while giving fitness professionals a way to scale their business through recorded workouts made available to their clients digitally. Currently, WAAM features more than 40 trainers, offering over 654 workouts ranging from HIIT to Pilates and ballet. The acquisition will add The St. James’ roster of expertise to the app and give its members a variety of ways to achieve their fitness goals from anywhere at any time.

“I am thrilled to be joining the incredible team at The St. James and greatly expanding the number of trainers and customers WAAM can reach,” said Pavlinac. “I look forward to working together to create a digital experience that empowers individuals and trainers to be the best version of themselves through real progress towards their active goals.”
