WOODSTOCK, Ga. – Feb. 11, 2019 – For the sixth consecutive year as a Conference Sponsor, and the fourth year as a Diamond Partner, PLAE is supporting the 70th NIRSA Annual Conference and Campus Rec & Wellness Expo, being held February 16-19 in Boston. By investing in the show, being an exhibitor and backing NIRSA’s mission, PLAE aims to continue building relationships with the 2,500 campus recreation students and professionals who attend and demonstrate its firm commitment to an important worldwide industry.

“The quality of our company, and the impact we can make on the world, is directly proportional to the quality of the connections we develop,” said Brett Waits, president of PLAE. “Every social we sponsor, T-shirt we give away and dollar we spend with NIRSA is a valuable investment in building deeper relationships with those who are committed to impacting college students across the globe.”

As it has in the past, PLAE is sponsoring three social events at NIRSA:

  • All-Conference Social: Held Sunday, February 17 at Lucky Strike Boston, located behind Fenway Park, this popular party offers 70,000 square feet of bowling, video games, pinball machines, dancing and a craft beer brewery.
  • LGBTQ & Friends Social: Also on Sunday, February 17, this gathering fosters and encourages inclusion and diversity within NIRSA. Recipients of the Fredrick R. Braden Scholarship for Social Justice will be recognized as well.
  • People of Color Social: On Monday, February 18 at the Sheraton Hotel, attendees will celebrate the powerful accomplishments of NIRSA members with respect to the Founders Scholarship, the Juliette Moore Distinguished Leadership Award, the Emerging Recreation Sports Leaders (ERSL) and the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities) Summit.

In its mission statement, NIRSA references being “an advocate for the advancement of recreation, sport, and wellness by providing educational and developmental opportunities, generating and sharing knowledge, and promoting and growth for our members.” PLAE sees its mission “to innovate solutions that help people become their best selves” as complementary to NIRSA’s.

“We honor what NIRSA stands for and believe in the hard work that the organization is doing,” said Rich Gray, executive vice president at PLAE. “We are dedicated to working together and giving back to this important community so that both our industries thrive, and people ultimately benefit.”

NIRSA attendees have the opportunity to experience PLAE’s multiple flooring products at booth #402 at the expo. PLAE also is sponsoring the 2019 NIRSA Directors Institute for campus recreation directors in Park City, Utah on June 10-12.
