COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (January 10, 2022) — Matrix Fitness, the world’s fastest-growing commercial fitness brand, today announced the technical integration of Matrix brand equipment with the Advagym digital platform from Sony Europe B.V. (hereinafter ‘Sony’), to offer a complete connected experience. The new connectivity between Advagym’s digital platform and connected Matrix touchscreen cardiovascular equipment enables a contactless and integrated experience. The cloud-based integration was effective as of December 15, 2021, allowing Advagym users the ability to receive workout data from connected Matrix equipment to the Advagym app.

“At Matrix, our approach to technology is centered around meeting our customers where they are. Ensuring that our products connect seamlessly with a customer's existing technology ecosystem continues to play a critical role in the relationships we forge with our customers,” says Matt McConley, Digital Product Manager for Johnson Health Tech. “By integrating Matrix equipment with Advagym, commercial facilities can offer the same cohesive, frictionless member experiences on Matrix cardio as with their other machines or areas equipped with Advagym technology.”

The Advagym platform collects exercise data and machine usage from connected Matrix cardio equipment to complement their cloud-based offering. Advagym’s solution utilizes wireless pucks, beacons and machine sensors to enable Advagym users to seamlessly track workouts, save favorite workout settings, view statistics and access workout history through the Advagym app. At fitness gyms with workout machines connected to Advagym, its digital platform allows trainers to create personalized program, monitor progress and connect with members, while operators have access to real-time usage data for making strategic decisions about service maintenance, staffing and investments in their business.

“With changing conditions for the gym industry, commercial facilities need to find new ways to engage with their members and offer them value-added services. Club owners and operators need a connected solution to maintain memberships and improve their business,” said Henrik Bengtsson, Head of Advagym business at Sony. “Advagym can offer them exactly this while also helping the members with their own fitness journey. The technical integration of our platform into Matrix cardio machines enables us to reach a bigger market and offer a connected experience that benefits both operators and their members.”

Advagym by Sony is offered worldwide and currently available in Swedish, Danish, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Spanish, German and Czech. With plans to add additional languages in the future. Advagym is compatible with Matrix touchscreen cardio consoles including the Touch XL, Touch, and select 7-series consoles.
