PHOENIX, Ariz. (Jan. 15, 2020) – The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), a pioneer and global leader in the personal training certification industry, announced today the appointment of world-renown bodybuilder Kai Greene, to serve as ISSA’s first global ambassador.

“This moment is surreal,” said Greene. “Having earned my ISSA certification more than 20 years ago to further my education about fitness, I’m honored to be on board with ISSA’s vision of changing the lives of 100 million people by 2030.”

Known as ‘The Predator‘, Greene is one of the greatest bodybuilders in the modern era of the sport. After winning numerous competitions and placing highly in Mr. Olympia shows throughout his career, he’s become widely recognized around the world for his incredible physique."Greene embodies every aspect of what ISSA stands for,” said Andrew Wyant, president and CEO of ISSA. “His story of how fitness changed his life and gave him purpose is exactly what we are trying to instill in the world. His passion for sharing wellness and our shared belief that health improves lives will help further our mission.”

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Greene experienced a difficult childhood. Orphaned at the age of 6, and raised in foster homes for over 10 years, he struggled to find a place in the community and felt like an outcast for much of his youth. As a result of this, the future champion began misbehaving in school. He used the gym as an escape from his problems, developing his physique from the age of 13. He quickly rose to fame by winning bodybuilding championships all over the world.

As part of the global ambassador team, Greene will join the home of the world’s most successful fitness professionals by creating content, sharing workout tips, and uplifting fitness enthusiasts worldwide. He will also share his knowledge of the ISSA certifications offered through key appearances and events across the globe. Greene has begun his work with ISSA by providing free e-books on how to find jobs in fitness.

“We can’t wait to work alongside Greene and hopefully increase our ambassador program across the globe to empower people with the science education behind fitness training in all realms,” stated Wyant.
