Dallas, Texas (June 22, 2020) —Fitness Connection, which has over 500,000 members across its 47 health clubs in Texas, North Carolina, and Nevada, announced today the launch of a new employee assistance fund. The Fund was created to support their employees in times of crisis and financial hardship caused by situations like the COVID-19 pandemic, serious illness, hurricanes, and other natural disasters.

Fitness Connection’s Fund will be administered as a 501(c)(3) through America’s Charities, a 501(c)3 nonprofit with 40 years of proven charitable funds management and workplace giving expertise. The fund will kick off with a Fitness Connection-funded pledge of $250,000.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has thrust our teams and communities into unknown territory. We recognize this is an unsettling time and that many in our community have faced both health and economic impacts,” stated Deslyn Norris, Chief People Officer. “Through this Fund, we want to provide peace of mind to our employees that we can support them through hardship.”

Eligibility guidelines and a confidential application process for Fitness Connection employees through a tax-deductible platform are formalized through the Fund.

“The Fitness Connection EPIC Relief Fund is a testament of our culture and core values,” shared Phil Howard, CEO. “Thanks a generous contribution from our partners at Roark Capital, and assistance from America’s Charities in providing a donation collection platform, process funds for the employee grants, and oversee the application process from start to finish, we are able to empower our employees to support one another and streamline our response to employees who need our help now. We are in this together and here to help.”
