NEW YORK, NY – On the move again, Blink Fitness is rapidly accelerating its growth into major markets across the United States. Blink, which focuses on how exercise makes you feel rather than exclusively on how it makes you look, is set to break into new metropolitan areas with the signing of a 10-gym agreement.
The agreement inked with Cove Fitness, LLC calls for five locations in Northern Virginia, with a focus on Arlington, Alexandria and Fairfax; three locations in Austin, Texas and two locations in Charleston, South Carolina. This will be the first time Blink breaks ground in each of these markets.
“Blink Fitness is a great concept from top to bottom. The leadership, the mission and the luxurious experience at an affordable price is the perfect combination,” said Justin Bristow, one of the four partners operating Cove Fitness, LLC. “Blink is the right avenue to bring a quality fitness experience to the communities in Virginia, Charleston and Austin.”
A former Auburn University and professional baseball player with the Chicago Cubs minor league, Bristow is passionate about fitness. Ned Williams, another partner, has a background in corporate operations and finance and as an exercise enthusiast is excited to apply his background to this fitness brand. The partners met through mutual friends, who are the other two partners of Cove Fitness, LLC.
“Exercising is nothing new – however, the way people are exercising is constantly evolving,” added Williams. “We are realizing now that images of six-pack abs and bulging muscles are not motivating or aspirational for the average gym-goer. People are motivated intrinsically and continue exercising because of the happiness it brings. Blink sees that and has designed its entire experience around this principle.”
Blink offers a special place for any community that it enters. The gym offers a truly unique experience to its members, based on a company philosophy of Mood Above Muscle™, which celebrates the positive feelings you get from exercise rather than just the physical benefits. This comes to life in each gym through a commitment to providing modern and colorful design, elevated customer service, relentless focus on cleanliness, energizing music and confidence-boosting training programs.
“Expanding Blink into underserved communities throughout America has been a focus of ours since the beginning,” said Todd Magazine, CEO of Blink Fitness. “But we will only expand with franchisees who can deliver the quality standards that are now synonymous with the Blink name. The passionate team at Cove Fitness has a great track record in multi-unit franchising, and we have all the confidence that they will do a great job delivering Blink's Feel Good Experience®.
Blink Fitness has opened nearly 80 locations from coast to coast since its inception, and has a number of additional franchisee- and corporate-owned locations in various stages of development in major U.S. markets. The unique fitness brand has plans to enter additional markets, including Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Virginia, and expects to surpass the 300-unit mark over the next five years.
