Leading Operator of Private Clubs in the U.S. Hosts Blood Drives at Clubs Across the Country, Collecting Enough to Save Nearly 7,000 Lives & Counting

DALLAS, July 21, 2020 — ClubCorp, The World Leader in Private Clubs® – announces the success of its ongoing campaign to combat the severe blood shortage facing the nation due to COVID-related blood drive cancellations. In partnership with the American Red Cross and other regional blood donation organizations, the ClubCorp family of Clubs has hosted nearly 100 blood drives at over 50 of its clubs across the country since March, with many more scheduled for this summer. Nearly every drive thus far has been filled to 100% capacity.

To date, the clubs’ generous members and employees have donated almost 3,000 pints of blood—enough to save nearly 7,000 lives. At this rate, the company is on track to be one of the top 50 corporate blood donors in the nation this year.

“We are so thankful to our incredible members, who have showed up in full force to help us do our part during this pandemic,” said ClubCorp CEO David Pillsbury. “Their compassion and enthusiasm has enabled us to make a significant impact in abating the severe blood shortage threatening patients across the country.”

Giving blood in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic is of critical importance. The number of patients who rely on blood donations for care remains constant, while supplies have dwindled to critical levels due to drive cancellations.
