JCC Proposed to Serve Growing Jewish Population

A proposal for a $30 million one-story, 56,000-square-foot Jewish Community Center and Jewish Academy in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, is scheduled to go before the city council on May 3, The Palm Beach Post reported.

The JCC building would hold a preschool that could serve nearly 200 students, and the Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Academy would relocate to the 41,600-square-foot academy building to serve up to 500 students.

Paul Gross, president of the JCC, told the newspaper that the proposed construction came in response to the growing Jewish population in the area. Construction of the JCC and the Meyer Academy also will create around 200 full- and part-time jobs.

The strategic JCC and Academy collaboration will enable the facilities to feed off one another to not only utilize each other's facilities but also to allow easier access to after-school engagement for students.
