Virgin Life Care Partners with GlobalFit

BOSTON -- People enrolled in Virgin Life Care's HealthMiles reward programs can now join fitness clubs through GlobalFit. GlobalFit's network of more than 2,000 clubs features national chains, such as Town Sports International, Fitness Formula, Bally Total Fitness, Lady of America and Ladies Workout Express.

HealthMiles and HealthMiles Plus members can visit the Virgin Life Care Web site, enter their zip codes to find participating fitness clubs in their area, click on the club of their choice, fill out a voucher and bring the completed voucher to a participating club to activate their membership. They also can join through GlobalFit directly. GlobalFit will be responsible for the administration on behalf of the clubs and tracking and reporting for Virgin Life Care, which is a member of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin group,.

Virgin Life Care's HealthMiles is a Health Rewards Program that motivates and offers incentives to members to get and stay healthy." Similar in concept to frequent flyer programs, HealthMiles members earn miles for living healthier lives. Miles are awarded for exercising, tracking results, and improving key body metrics, such as blood pressure, body fat and weight, and can be redeemed for products from U.S. retailers.

HealthMiles is available to employers as an employee benefit. The individually insured can purchase HealthMiles Plus, which includes Virgin Life Care's HealthMiles and an individual insurance plan underwritten by its insurance partner, Humana Inc. HealthMiles Plus is available in Texas and Florida and will roll out into other parts of the United States in early 2007.
