VASA Fitness Will Add 13 New Clubs in 2020 Via Midwest-Centric Expansion

VASA Fitness, Orem, Utah, is planning to grow by 13 locations in 2020 as part of a Midwest-centric expansion plan that will see the high-volume, low-price (HVLP) chain add clubs in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.

“VASA’s goal is to build communities around accessible fitness in all areas where we operate and we do extensive research about the local community before deciding to open a new location,” Troy Peterson, chief development officer at VASA, said in a Feb. 18 media release. “We are excited to strengthen our presence in territories where we currently operate and introduce our premium fitness brand in new states like Wisconsin and Illinois where we believe our culture aligns very well with those communities.”

VASA’s newly announced locations include Herriman, Utah; Logan, Utah; Westminster, Colorado; New Berlin, Wisconsin; Villa Park, Illinois; Arlington Heights, Illinois; Joliet, Illinois; and Indianapolis. The expansion will increase VASA's national footprint by 30 percent, according to the release.

The company currently operates 45 locations in Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and Indiana. Its clubs are approximately 60,000 square feet and feature basketball courts, spas, saunas and children's services, as well as group fitness classes such as HIIT and cycling.

VASA is currently hiring for its new locations.

The company ranked No. 19 on Club Industry's Top 100 Health Clubs of 2019 list with an estimated $98.3 million in 2018 revenue.
