TSI’s COO Resigns

NEW YORK -- Randall Stephen, chief operating officer at Town Sports International (TSI) resigned today, according to a brief statement from the company. The statement did not give a reason for his resignation or any details on who would replace him. A company spokesperson contacted for this story would not elaborate on the reason for Stephen's departure. Lisa Hufcut, the spokesperson, said that Stephen's responsibilities would be divided up among other executives for now.

Stephen's resignation occurs three months after Bob Giardina left the CEO role. Giardina cited personal and health reasons for his departure. He was replaced by Alex Alimanestianu. Hufcut said that she did not know of any other TSI management departures planned in the near future.

“On behalf of the company, I want to thank Randy for his many contributions to the company and for his efforts over the past six years. We all wish Randy well in his future endeavors,” Alimanestianu said in the statement.

TSI is a publicly traded health club company doing business under the brand names New York Sports Clubs, Boston Sports Clubs, Washington Sports Clubs and Philadelphia Sports Clubs.
