Tony Robbins and Pitbull to Open New Boxing Studio Chain

GRIT BXNG, which will offer 50-minute, high-intensity group exercise classes, will pay its trainers up to $1,000 per hour with the possibility of additional money in tips paid through the company's app.

Author and life coach Tony Robbins, music artist Armando "Pitbull" Perez and motivational speaker Bill Zanker have teamed to open GRIT BXNG, a new boxing studio chain whose flagship location will open in New York in June, promising up to $1,000 per hour in pay to its trainers.

GRIT BXNG's concept is based on 50-minute, high-intensity group exercise classes, according to an April 9 media release. The boxing-focused classes will feature large video screens of Robbins delivering motivational content, while a state-of-the-art sound system will play music curated by Perez.

"I believe boutique fitness is an experiential business and who better to partner with than two friends who excel at creating community and 'wow' experiences," Zanker said in the release. "I'm thrilled to have them in my corner."

Zanker serves as the company's president while Robbins and Perez are advisors and investors.

"My life is about working with people to change their bodies, change their relationships and change their lives,” Robbins said in the release. “GRIT BXNG will provide a space and experience unlike any other."

Perez said: "With each new project I approach, the words ‘you can't’ and ‘no’ are just motivators that propel me to succeed and fuel my fire. That mentality is exactly what GRIT BXNG embodies to me.”

In May, GRIT BXING will begin auditioning trainers in New York. New hires may earn up to $1,000 per hour and can be paid additional tips via the forthcoming GRIT BXING app, according to the release.

"Parents often tell their children to become doctors or lawyers," Zanker said. "But now parents will encourage their children to become fitness pros. At $1,000 an hour, they will make more than the best Wall Street lawyers. Trainers are the new superstars of today."

The 5,000-square-foot flagship studio will be located at 9 E. 16th St. in Manhattan.
