Renaissance ClubSport Shows Off Its Aliso Viejo, CA, Location

Although Renaissance Hotels operates more than 155 hotels worldwide, it has only two Renaissance ClubSport locations, one in Aliso Viejo, CA, and the other in Walnut Creek, CA. The Renaissance ClubSport facilities, created by Leisure Sports Inc. (which also operates five ClubSport athletic clubs), are hotel and fitness center combinations that offer one-stop shops for health, beauty and social interaction.

This summer, Pamela Kufahl, director of content and engagement for Club Industry, visited the Aliso Viejo Renaissance ClubSport and received a tour from Ed Tomlin, general manager of the facility. The Aliso Viejo location includes a 174-room hotel along with the 85,000-square-foot health club. The club features racquetball, handball and basketball courts plus a nine-room day spa, a blow-dry bar, a full-service restaurant, a café and a bar. The facility's 7,000-square-foot child care center now  includes ClubSport University, which offers courses in math, science, art, mind and body, and agility. Water features include a children's splash and play area, a junior Olympic-size lap pool, an exercise pool and a whirlpool.

Recently, the Aliso Viejo location was named the Full-Service Hotel of the Year for the western region for Renaissance Hotels. Locations are judged on criteria such as guest satisfaction, service culture, and meeting and group business capabilities.
