NASM Updates Personal Trainer Certification

CALABASAS, CA -- The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) launched the third edition of its Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification. A key change in the revised certification is a modification of the organization’s evidence-based training methodology to better address the needs of the general fitness client. The CPT program was also enhanced with interactive learning formats including DVD, iPod downloads and an online course learning management system.

“As the industry continues to flourish, we have discovered new scientific evidence to support a comprehensive approach to health and fitness,” says Dr. Micheal Clark, NASM president and CEO. “To keep pace with ongoing research and clinical application, we felt the time was right to produce an enhanced version of our CPT Certification course.”
