On Dec. 21, Life Time, Chanhassen, Minnesota, opened its newest 255,000-square-foot health club at Houston's Baybrook Mall.

Life Time Athletic Baybrook is Life Time's ninth Houston-area location and the first of three clubs the company is planning to open in that market before the end of 2019, according to a media release.

"Our entire focus is to help people live healthy, happy lives, and this incredible new Baybrook destination certainly furthers the positive health impact we are able to have throughout Greater Houston," Clarence Latson, general manager of Life Time Athletic Baybrook, said in the release. "We are thrilled with the continued growth within the Houston market and look forward to serving the community and our members with a broad array of health, wellness, nutrition, relaxation and entertainment services and programs."

The new club's amenities include dedicated group fitness, cycling, yoga and Pilates studios, as well as an outdoor tennis complex and indoor and outdoor pools.

The club also features Life Time's signature athletic performance and recovery space called The Zone where members can receive chiropractic and physical therapy care, nutrition coaching and metabolic assessments.

In 2019, Life Time plans to open two other Houston-area locations with Life Time Athletic Greenway and Life Time Work CityCentre.

Life Time Baybrook is Life Time’s 141st North American location.

In other news, Life Time is expanding its club footprint in the Chicago metro area and, in late November, opened Life Time Athletic Northbrook.
