Life Time Continues California Expansion with New Club in San Clemente

Life Time, Chanhassen, Minnesota, opened its Life Time Rancho San Clemente Tennis and Athletic Resort on Jan. 24, the company announced. The 10.5-acre resort with a 46,000-square-foot facility was formerly the Rancho San Clemente Tennis and Fitness Club.

This is the fifth Life Time facility in California, according to the company’s website.

"I'm truly excited to reinvigorate our tennis community in San Clemente and provide our members with a health and wellness experience unlike any in the area," Kevin Hammell, general manager of Life Time Rancho San Clemente, said in media release from the company. "We have been welcomed with open arms by residents, many of whom spent many years playing tennis here previously. Our team is eager to serve them in this completely reimagined space that will fit the needs of the entire family."

The resort offers four dedicated studios for exclusive group fitness, cycle, yoga and Pilates programming; a fitness floor dedicated to one-on-one personal training; and more than 200 pieces of cardiovascular and resistance training equipment.

The facility’s court offerings include 12 tennis courts (one a stadium court with amphitheater seating), four pickleball courts, a tennis viewing area, an outdoor patio and entertainment space. It offers adult and junior programs, personal lessons, leagues and mixers.

The aquatics area features outdoor lap and leisure pools with cabanas, lounge chairs, starting blocks and fountains.

This location also features a dedicated child center; LifeCafe, which is a nutrition-focused full-service, fast-casual restaurant and bar featuring a full menu; and LifeSpa, a full-service salon and spa with six service rooms specializing in hair, body and nail services.

Life Time has 150 locations in 41 markets in the United States and Canada. It ranked No. 2 on the Club Industry Top 100 Clubs list for 2019 with estimated 2018 revenue of $1.75 billion.
