The Overland Park, KS, Jazzercise center raised $3,000 in its Triple Challenge Fundraiser for the Rett's Syndrome Foundation, Autism Society of Johnson County and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

After receiving requests from certifying agencies to host the National Board of Fitness Examiner (NBFE) exams at their functions, NBFE is finalizing a process that allows these organizations to do so using a pencil and paper version of the exam. Previously, the written exam was only offered as a computer-based exam at Thompson Prometric testing sites around the country.

Power Systems, Inc. created a new fitness program for its employees, FITRU2, an acronym for “A fitter you equals a fitter us.” Employees will receive reimbursement for health club membership fees as well as free physical assessments and workout programs from certified trainers.

Gold's Gym International promoted Joel Tallman to vice president of franchising and global operations. In the newly created position, Tallman will oversee the day-to-day growth and management of Gold's Gym's domestic and international franchise operations.

The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports named the National Swimming Pool Foundation as a 50th Anniversary Partner to Get America Moving! The organization will promote physical activity, fitness and sports in 2006.

The Oregon Athletic Clubs opened its newest facility, The Bethany Athletic Club, on May 31. The new facility has more than 60,000 square feet of space and houses a restaurant and day spa.
