Beachbody LIVE to Cease Operations on March 1, 2020

Despite the closing of this part of the Beachbody business, the company plans to refocus its resources on other areas of the business that are growing, according to an announcement from the company.

Beachbody will cease operations of Beachbody LIVE on March 1, 2020, according to an announcement from Beachbody.

“The rise of exclusive boutique studios, custom programming, and the growing desire to work out via an abundance of fitness apps” hindered Beachbody LIVE’s ability to scale as management had anticipated, the announcement noted.

The company, which launched Beachbody LIVE eight years ago, will refocus its resources toward other Beachbody initiatives that “continue to enjoy strong growth,” the announcement said.

Beachbody LIVE includes classes such as P90X LIVE and Transform LIVE.

Health clubs will not be required to remove Beachbody LIVE classes from their schedules, according to the company’s website. Instructors and health clubs that have agreements with Beachbody for these classes can continue to hold and teach the classes through the terms and conditions of their agreements.

Rounds will be released as normal through January 2020. The Beachbody LIVE website will remain active through March 1, 2020.
