Athletic Club Winners Announced

SEATTLE -- The North American Association of Club Athletic Directors (NAACAD) recognized several award winners at its annual conference in June at the Atlanta Athletic Club.

Wayne Milner, vice president/athletics at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle, was named Athletic Director of the Year and was elected president of the organization for the 2007-08 year.

The Los Angeles Athletic Club (LAAC) received awards for the Best Racquet Sports Program of the Year and the Best Recreational Program of the Year. LAAC Athletic Director Marlene Wiscovitch accepted the awards and was elected secretary/treasurer for the upcoming year. Wade Sit, athletic director of the Badminton & Racquet Club of Toronto, accepted the Renovation/Expansion of the Year award for his club. Renee Ferguson of the Multnomah Club of Portland, OR, accepted her club’s award for Family Event of the Year.

The Arbutus Club of Vancouver, BC, won Fitness Program of the Year and Special Event of the Year.

NACAD is a 57-year-old organization made up of city athletic clubs from the United States and Canada whose general mission is to continually improve the club experience for its members.
