TRP Name First 5 Industry Leading Operators to Take Up Positions of Honorary Vice-Presidents, As Customer Engagement Academy (CEA) Board Starts to Take Shape

The Customer Engagement Academy (CEA) has today revealed the first 5 individuals appointed as Honorary Vice-Presidents on its board. 

Joining Chairman, Mike Hills and Honorary President, Dr Melvyn Hillsdon are Julie Ashley-Jones (Service Business and Marketing Development Officer for Leisure at Pembrokeshire County Council in West Wales), Stuart Martin (Managing Director at UK-based charity Active Nation), Ken Brown (Owner at Long Island premium full-service club Fitness Incentive), Elaine Jobson (CEO at Jetts, a global fitness chain with its headquarters in Australia), and Chris Stevenson (Owner at Stevenson Fitness, a Californian, community-focused full-service club).

Mike Hills, CEA Chairman, said “We have worked hard to create a shortlist of individuals from across the global health and fitness industry who we believe are leading the way in the delivery of great member engagement. It was a real challenge to cut our long-list down to the proposed shortlist we have today. There were many more examples of great operators than there were spaces to fill at this moment in time, so some difficult decisions had to be made – but we are very happy with how the proposed line-up is now looking. All of the invites have gone out and we will release details of the new appointments in batches over the coming months, starting with the first five released today. We are incredibly excited about the involvement of these individuals as we believe they have a huge amount of knowledge and experience which they can bring to the table. We are looking forward to working closely with them as we shape the CEA this year and it continues to grow and innovate in the future.”

The CEA’s Honorary Vice-Presidents take up a non-executive role on the Board; assisting in the promotion of the Academy's initiatives, being consulted on the major projects to come out of it to help ensure they bring real value to the industry, as well as having an open channel of communication with the CEA Chairman to advise on the direction taken by the academy in the future.

Chris Stevenson, newly-named CEA Honorary Vice-President, said “I was delighted to be approached by Mike about getting involved in what I believe to be a really valuable initiative which is a welcome addition to the global health and fitness industry. Here at Stevenson Fitness customer engagement is incredibly important to us and being acknowledged for this through my selection to represent the club on the CEA Board makes me immensely proud. I am really looking forward to seeing how I can support the CEA team to ensure they are successful."
