WOODSTOCK, Ga. – Feb. 6, 2018 – As PLAE continues to meet growing demand for its athletic performance products and services in the United States, it also has significantly expanded its impact worldwide, with an established subsidiary in Australia and multiple projects around the globe, such as in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and China.
“We are passionate about inspiring exercisers and athletes throughout the world to be their best, and are experiencing tremendous success as we extend PLAE into many international markets,” said Brett Waits, president of PLAE.
The company’s first subsidiary, located in Australia, opened in May 2016 and has since grown significantly. Prior to opening the local office, PLAE had completed several projects in Australia, including at the University of Sydney, and Meriden School and X Centre in Brisbane. With existing business, an affluent market and investment in sports, coaching, and fitness, Australia was an ideal international hub for PLAE.
The Australia office recently completed a project for the elite Embody Fitness luxury private fitness center in Dubai, UAE. Located in the iconic Lamborghini building, the 4100-square-foot Olympic-standard Embody Fitness includes a group training studio, indoor track, and a premium weight lifting area with four racks and four platforms. PLAE was selected to equip the weight training area, functional training section and studio with its exclusive Achieve surface and popular Attack Turf.
“Embody provides members with exceptional, high-performance surfaces that are aesthetically pleasing to ensure a unique touch-and-feel experience from the time they enter this prestigious facility,” noted Shane Gooneratne, PLAE’s director of international sales in Australia.
In addition, PLAE recently equipped the Geelong Football Club, one of the powerhouse teams in the Australian Rules Football league, with top-of-the-line flooring in its training center. The match-day warm-up room now features Achieve in striking blue for safe and comfortable kicking, running, jumping and ground-based activities – with the club logo prominently inlaid in the center, serving as the hub where players congregate after victories to sing the team song.
In Australia, PLAE also has been closely involved in facility redevelopments with the Brisbane Broncos, Rowing Australia, Pinnacle Health Club, Queensland Academy of Sport and Cricket NSW.
But the company is not just providing its products to international markets. PLAE is currently working with the Olympic Committee in China to deliver professional strength & conditioning expertise to potential Olympic athletes in this highly competitive country. Through its PLAE Perform coaching and education division, led by internationally recognized strength & conditioning coach Ron McKeefery, PLAE has 15 elite performance coaches preparing highly competitive athletes in several sports for success in the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games.
PLAE is redefining athletic flooring as a foundational component of every training space, creating active solutions that equip people to achieve their best selves. Pushing boundaries, pursuing innovation and harnessing technology and design are daily passions at PLAE. Boldly committed to raising the bar, PLAE drives powerful performance.
