Cincinnati, OH, April 25, 2018 – Glenville State College recently completed a major renovation of its 3900 sq. ft. Mollohan Campus Community Fitness Center featuring functional equipment from Escape Fitness and already it is producing dramatic results.

Partnering on the fitness center upgrade with distributor Advantage Sport & Fitness, Glenville is reaping immediate benefits from its investment with a dramatic increase in membership, from 10% of the campus using the fitness center to almost 40%.

With the goal to create a healthier campus community in line with the needs of today’s student body, the fitness center now offers functional training with a variety of Escape functional tools including Plyosoft Boxes, Bulgarian Bags, Corebags and more for a total body workout. Plus, it includes plenty of options for a high calorie burn with twenty-one cardio machines including treadmills, adaptive motion trainers, ellipticals and a Jacob’s Ladder. And, it offers strength-training equipment with dumbbell racks, dumbbells and benches.

Another key component in the center’s success is its commitment to educational training. Advantage provided Escape Fitness online training – in addition to installing the equipment – to establish a path for fitness staff and trainers to learn and create unique programming to reach the maximum potential from each piece of equipment.

“This renovation illustrates a terrific trend we are seeing across the United States on college campuses that are now using impressive, well-equipped rec centers as major recruiting tools to drive both admission and retention,” said Matthew Januszek, co-founder Escape Fitness. “We love that Glenville’s rec center renovation has already resulted in four times as much use. That’s the type of impressive result you get when you truly understand the needs of your members.”

“Escape’s colorful, innovative functional tools are perfect for the college setting because they are versatile and add an element of visual high-impact. With the added educational training to fully use each piece, it’s a win for both trainers and members,” said Robbie Waller, Advantage representative.
