NY-Based fitness franchise signs three-gym agreement for Atlanta metro
NEW YORK, NY – Blink Fitness – a premium-quality, value-based gym that has challenged industry norms by celebrating how exercise makes you feel, not just how it makes you look – is set to expand into Georgia. The brand has signed a new development deal for three gyms to open over the next several years across the greater Atlanta metro.
The three Atlanta-area Blink Fitness locations will be owned and operated by father-and-son entrepreneurial team Daniel and Timothy Barbir. The team is eyeing a variety of potential locations for their first gym, with a primary focus on portions of North Fulton, Gwinnett, Forsyth and Cherokee counties. They plan to open their first location by late-2018.
Daniel, with over 20 years of management experience in the healthcare industry, and Timothy, with extensive information technology and business intelligence experience, each bring a unique viewpoint to the business. The team is thrilled to combine their healthcare and systems expertise to bring the best possible gym experience to Atlanta.
“We’re so excited to bring a much-needed concept like Blink to the Atlanta community,” said Daniel Barbir. “Between Blink’s revolutionary philosophy and our family’s background in health and wellness, my son and I are thrilled to be able to help others in our community meet their desired fitness goals. As entrepreneurs and avid fitness enthusiasts, Blink was truly a perfect fit.”
Launched in 2011, Blink offers a truly unique experience to its members, based on a company philosophy of Mood Above Muscle™, which celebrates the positive feelings you get from exercise rather than just the physical benefits. Their Feel Good Experience® comes to life in each gym through a commitment to providing contemporary and colorful design, elevated customer service, relentless focus on cleanliness, energizing music and confidence-boosting training programs.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daniel and Tim to the Blink family, and we feel fortunate to have found franchisees who share our mission and belief system,” said Todd Magazine, President of Blink Fitness. “We've been focused on teaming up with franchisees who share our passion for delivering a high quality proposition, and the Barbirs absolutely fall into that category.”
Blink Fitness has opened more than 70 company-owned locations across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California, and has a number of additional corporate- and franchisee-owned locations in various stages of development in major U.S. markets. According to Magazine, Blink will have approximately 90 locations open and operating by the end of 2018, and will enter additional markets, including Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan and Virginia, over the next several years. He also expects Blink to surpass the 300-unit mark over the next five years.
