GREENVILLE, SC - Nov. 9, 2017 - 9Round, the world's fastest-growing kickboxing franchise, recently hosted its 6th Annual Kick Event for Breast Cancer on October 12. During the day, fitness enthusiasts from all over the US and Canada dedicated their time and energy by "kicking" for the cause, resulting in 21.7 million kicks. Participating 9Round locations donated one penny for every kick recorded, which raised more than $217,000 for breast cancer research.
“This annual event touches so many lives and it’s amazing to see how much this event has grown over the years,” said Shannon Hudson, CEO and co-founder of 9Round. “We are extremely grateful for all of those who have continued to make this event a tremendous success.”
9Round’s Kick Event began in 2011 with just 10 franchises in South Carolina and has grown to some 400 locations across the US and Canada. Now, six years later, the event has recorded over 58.4 million kicks and raised more than $550,000 for breast cancer treatment and laboratory research.
“Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women, so the more we can do find a cure and prevent this disease is so important,” said Heather Hudson, COO and co-founder of 9Round. “When people come together, like the thousands who participated in this year’s Kick Event, we can accomplish a lot of good.”
