Health Club CIOs Invited to Forum

CSI Software, Houston, is sponsoring a CIO Forum for the health club industry on May 17 at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, the company announced.

The forum will allow CIOs in the industry to hear vendor-neutral presentations and share insights and expertise about launching new initiatives, fostering innovation and exploring best practices, according to Andy Wigderson, vice president of sales and marketing at CSI Software.

Wigderson says that although most club operators have IT and someone who handles their IT, only about 20 to 25 club companies actually have a CIO, or a chief information officer. The other companies do not offer their top IT person a seat at the management table.

“The idea is to get these people together in one room and talk about how IT can be used in health and fitness clubs,” Wigderson says, adding that other industries hold these types of events for CIOs.

The CIO Forum will be a private, invitation-only event for the top IT people at the top 100 health club companies.

The purpose of the forum is to create a greater network of peers, a series of new insights focused on real solutions and a dynamic community of IT leaders in the health and fitness club industry.

The other outcome for the event may be creating more discussion around the need for technology in the fitness industry, which should only help the technology and software companies in the fitness business, Wigderson says.
