Feds Indict Club's Trainer

CATONSVILLE, MD — A 47-year-old Bally personal trainer was indicted on federal charges for conspiring to distribute anabolic steroids. Michael Schlanger, who worked at the Glen Burnie, MD, Bally Total Fitness club, allegedly imported thousands of vials and tablets and sold them on the Internet and throughout the Baltimore area. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

When Schlanger was arrested last September, he was still working at the club, says Matt Messinger, Bally spokesperson. He has since resigned from his position as a personal trainer.
