Three years after its inception, Punk Rock Yoga® is offering classes in New York beginning Sept. 25 at The Red Room. Punk Rock Yoga® is Hatha Yoga practiced in unconventional spaces such as nightclubs, self-defense training centers or biology research centers. The class features live musicians and DJs playing everything from Japanese flute to didgeridoo to experimental guitar.

The Marblehead-Swampscott, MA, YMCA is building a 90,000-square-foot facility to replace a Y that was built in 1910. The new facility, which will serve the population of Swampscott, Salem and Marblehead, MA, will feature an eight-lane pool, a 7,000-square-foot gym, a 7,000-square-foot fitness center and a 6,500-square-foot gymnastics center. The Y broke ground on the facility in late September and expects to open it in 2008.

Corporate Fitness Works is supporting Dr. Donna Allen's Pink Pedals Bike Tour across America, which will benefit the American Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF). Corporate Fitness Works challenged its team to participate in at least 30 minutes of a physical activity for all 26 days of Dr. Allen's Ride Across America. In addition, Corporate Fitness Works will match all donations made to ABCF by team members.

Power Systems named Monty Kilburn as vice president of marketing and Robert Lindsey as director of education. Kilburn will oversee all marketing initiatives including advertising, catalog and Web promotion, and product education and development. Lindsey will direct Power Systems' newly formed education department, which will promote product knowledge and fitness/sports performance programming through industry conferences and seminars.
