Lifeline, the leading supplier of professional-grade functional fitness training equipment for the last 40 years, today announced that brand founder, Bobby “Sugar” Hinds, will be inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame (NFHOF) this spring. Hinds will be joined by other notables, including: Leslie Sansone, Peter Davis, Beth Kuntzleman, and Kathie Davis.
Hinds founded Lifeline – one of the first fitness-oriented businesses in the USA – in 1973, over 40 years ago, as he pioneered the functional fitness industry with the development of the first beaded jump rope and other legendary products like the Lifeline Portable Gym. Since then, the company has developed professional-grade products used for bodyweight, progressive variable resistance and core training. Together, Hinds and Lifeline have introduced more than 60 fitness and training products and over 20 patents.
“It’s quite an honor to be elected into the National Fitness Hall of Fame,” said Hinds. “Being in the fitness world nearly my whole life, it is an incredible feeling of accomplishment and something all in the fitness world strive to achieve.”
In August of 2013, Lifeline was acquired by Pivotal 5, and gained the support of Pivotal 5’s marketing, commercialization and sales teams to expand the brand’s presence worldwide. In March of 2014, Pivotal 5 announced the revitalized rebranding and updated Lifeline products. With an updated look and enhanced products, Lifeline will advance to the next level, continuing Hinds mission to deliver the best functional fitness products designed to meet the needs of today’s bootcamp-style training programs.
The National Fitness Hall of Fame was founded in 2004 to provide both a physical and virtual place where the lifelong efforts of individuals and organizations are acknowledged and showcased. All individuals nominated must meet a certain criteria before being considered for NFHOF induction, which includes, but is not limited to, 25 of more year of full-time service as a professional in the Health & Fitness industry.
